  • Thank You

In the honor of the great comedic spirit within,  +Jimmy Fallon has inspired me to compose a post of all the Thank You notes I want to share.  The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of excitement for me and especially my husband, +Jesse Fearns .

Without the help of the following people, my journey would not have been possible.  Thank you, associates in Regency Square mall and surrounding shops in Jacksonville.  Without your patience and good fashion advice I would have gone on this trip looking like a complete disaster or just my ordinary self.

Thank you Lady at the desk in the Condo building on Prudential Drive in downtown Jacksonville.  Without your concern and swift response, I would have missed my flight trying to hail a taxi.

Thank you, Checker Cab driver #4550.  I was being a major pain in the ass that day because I didn't want to be late.  As the first passengers were being called to board the flight, I was standing in line with them sipping a cup of ice water from Starbucks.  You got me there in just enough time.

Thank you, people who sat next to me on those flights.  In a hurry that morning I took a shower after packing. When I arrived at my final destination I realized how ripe I was since forgetting to put on deodorant.

Thank you, Stylist next door to Beauty Max on Merrill Rd.  You helped me create the look I wanted to have by securing my hair up in a high pony with gel and hairspray, more gel, more hairspray, and a blast of hot air.  The style lasted 3 nights and 4 long days!

Thank you, Pet Sitters. My dogs and cat would have gone without food, water or potty breaks and clean litter if you didn't visit the house while I was away.

Lastly, Thank you Jewelers in the Fresh Market Plaza on Atlantic Boulevard near San Pablo.  You checked the settings on my diamonds and made my rings sparkle without charge.

The relentless strike of a Fashion Bug

So many great deals were going on.  I couldn't resist taking notes while on this calculated visit to the mall. Trying to do everything at once isn't easy.  Didn't even have time to try on shoes or accessories.

All the dresses I tried on at JCPenny were between $60-$95.  Of course the black sparkly one that looks the best is the most expensive.

    Not a Kitchen Nightmare

During off time this week I decided to do some food-stylist type activity in my kitchen.  Eating right foods is difficult as it is when something quick and ready to eat is less satisfying.  The way food looks on a plate also helps in deciding what to eat.

Pay close attention to the television and any of the +Food Network programs.  Usually when the chefs are preparing something to eat in their kitchens, all of the utensils and foods are out on the countertop for quick and easy preparation.

Food Style works hand in hand with an easy to navigate cooking and prep area.  Does the inside of you're refrigerator look like something only used to store take out leftovers?  Can you visualize what items you've got on hand in your pantry cabinets without looking?  If you want to prepare a meal using what is in your pantry, do you first need to clear a sink full of dishes?  Do you unload and put away dishes from the dish washer shortly after they've been washed or wait until the next load needs to go in?
These are just a few thoughts.  For me, the joy of cooking and preparing meals gets lost when I try to begin from a messy prep station.  Try to think 2 or 3 meals in advance when cooking meals at home.  Remember not every time you want to make a meal going to the grocery store might not be an option.

Right now decide- is there anything in your freezer that could be defrosted?  What seasoning will be used to prepare fish, beef or poultry?  Do you find yourself more likely to make heavy hourdurvs for breakfast lunch and dinner?  What does your idea practical meal look like?

Eat what you feel comfortable preparing.  Imagine every meal you make being featured on television.
Marinade something ahead of time then be marveled.  The most amazing meal Ive had in weeks came from my kitchen pantry at home.

    Monday Morning Pitch

Always encouraged to see the bigger picture.  Concept of ownership and scholarship.  When relating  the concepts of ownership from a cultural standpoint, some raw emotion seems to emerge.  With some effort one needs to think nationally and globally about ownership.  Power always resides with the owners of debt.  Ask yourself, who owns your debt?

Deciding how to direct an argument for or against some topic usually involves a deal of introspection.  First overcoming the 'I ain't got that, how come they do' mentality.   We notice similarities like age and education levels.  Degrees earned and time spent serving.  Common suffering.  When culturally a someone appears 'different' or 'changed' we need to create a mental placement for this new order these semingly strange similarities.

Did anyone read into the debate that took place between the Princeton Alumna regarding an open letter to the Princentonian about Undergraduates and keeping themselves on the lookout for potential husbands and wives?!  This was the last thing I expected to devote my attention to reguarding one of our nations top elite colleges. The point that was brought up during a segment on +Weekends with Alex Witt was the letters encouraging efforts to take on a holistic perspective.  I don't know what that means choice of word was used.  Other sources mention that the letter was originally deleted then retrieved.  The open letter was directed to women on campus that studied and focused primarily on their life on campus.  To be happy and content later in life with someone with similar interests and equally stimulating thinking about
