Reign of Rhonda: Roadtrip

Trying to approach how to handle my enormous task of unpacking.  According to this out of reach planner I created, I'm going to stage cookware and kitchen ware before putting them away into the cabinets.  That's all nice and fine but the physical effort that will require doesn't peak my interest at this time.

I'm also not trying to waste the morning and make the wrong decisions later by not following the plan and goofing around later.

All the sight seeing I want to do is depending on getting some of these boxes unpacked.  I'm complaining and rebelling about the self-imposed restrictions I've set but as long as I'm able to generate a blog post, humor and muse my readers, it makes all the trouble worthwile.

Want to go to Walmart now and grab a few things but need to work on my appearance some.

My toiletries and clothes didn't get packed in a gymbag last night like I wanted to.

I also forgot to pack a lunch for myself to avoid the drive thru.

Did however accomplish some kitchen unpacking.  Noticing several items that don't really have a place yet that are staying boxed up for now.

This combo utility room/garage space has so much potential.  The cars  have been camping out on the driveway since the movers were here.  Really wanting to move this stuff around to get the autos back into the garage.

Reign of Rhonda: Roadtrip

From Clarksville to Belleville the overnight stop was much needed.  We rested from 3am until 8am.  The dogs slept in the car.

Stopped for breakfast in Codiz, Kentucky at a shell station for coffee.  I was in a good mood but spilled coffee in the other car putting the non coffee drinker into a sour mood.

Looking back, the notes I wanted to jot down while driving to keep me awake and engaged along with the 5MB of music I uploaded only lasted a few hours into the trip.  My mobile phone kept shutting off and I was growing furious.  The disgust was thick since my backseat was place for 3 fidgety dogs.

All the cool kids have the auxiliary or Bluetooth option on their car stereo.  My Honda doesn't so I improvised.  At the house I plug in my MP3 player to the stand alone computer speakers and unplug my ear buds.  The concept works as a substitute car audio system however we had more vehicle luggage than I planned for and the speakers didn't get fit properly as stuff was being arranged.

I was so exhausted from the cleaning and packing.  Remembering all the odds and ends; like putting a for sale sign up and tracking mileage and remembering to be pleasant and thankful just didn't come across clearly the first couple hours of the stay at our new residence.

Its like the remnants of this long exhaustive trip revealing itself as the oncoming of a bad head cold.  No matter how hard I try to fight or ignore it the more it wants to just run its course and knock me the hell out.
Endless unpacking-frantic cleaning to keep the new place from getting trashed and carrying old messy habits.

Starting a blog

So far with this series of posts we have discussed: choosing a theme for your blog, how to generate posts, choosing the right blogging platform for you, and contributing to established blogs. We haven't discussed much about photography or video publishing yet.

It seems almost second nature to see these names doesn't it? If you want to learn more about how each of these platforms can be used for your blogging pleasure, follow the links. Along with the capability of your main blogging web page, adding photos and video is a common way to get an idea across.

Save time when adding video and pictures you've captured to your posts by using a SD card reader.  SD cards are like little disks.  They allow you to save photos and video from your mobile phone, camcorder or camera without needing to be logged into a particular site.  With a SD card reader you can upload the saved media files to a PC for editing and sharing on your own time.  The device is a USB plug and play reader.

The relentless strike of a Fashion Bug

The days have been counting down rapidly toward this special occasion I've been shopping for.  Questions like: What will I wear, what should I pack, and how should I have my hair and makeup have been keeping me up for days.

Thank goodness I decided to start shopping weeks prior.  One thing I cant deal with is sticker-shock.  It takes away from the whole experience of finding just the right look.  The most important thing I'm taking away from this whole ordeal is that nothing is impossible.

Since my wardrobe hasn't been invested into for years I was having a terrible time deciding if any pieces could be updated to make a new ensemble.  Low and behold I dug up 2 skirts and a blouse from my non-existent wardrobe that would work.

Just take a look at the wreck I was toward the end of this count down.

So many great deals were going on.  I couldn't resist taking notes while on this calculated visit to the mall. Trying to do everything at once isn't easy.  Didn't even have time to try on shoes or accessories.

All the dresses I tried on at JCPenny were between $60-$95.  Of course the black sparkly one that looks the best is the most expensive.

News, It Happens. Where's the wow factor?

Tuesday afternoon driving eastbound on McCormick road I noticed a plume of smoke drifting from the opposite side of the St. Johns river.  I pulled over into a left turn lane and snaped a photo.

Several miles later on the same road, I noticed a second plume of smoke while going over the Wonderwood bridge.  Since traffic was flowing smoothly I didn't stop and photograph.

Northside fire now estimated at 400 acres in size...and only 25% contained.

Unceremoniously I sent a pigeon out with an image attached about what i saw..

Suppose I was expecting a headline in the newspaper or at least follow up story of some sort.  All Ive found so far were tweets about fire engines from across town being deployed for support.  Im assuming that two different fires were burning on the North side of the river.

Point A is the location from where my photo was taken facing North.  The second plume of smoke I noticed was from point B.

HoodRat!

Who?  Job comes looking for somene and asks, Where are you?  How long will you stay?  How far away are you?  How long are your nights, days, and weekends?  For what will it take to spend you and your house money?

How do you handle raunchy humor?

Remember the days before you got the Internet at home?
No, but i do remember the extra long phone cord that reached from one outlet to all the other rooms.  I remember getting a pager when they were cool.  I remember making a voicemail recording with music from the radio.  I remember losing phone privelages and having to go to the payphone at strange hours to answer my beeper, acting grown.
As far as entertainment was concerned, the newspaper and tvguide magazines had tv listings.

Where's the most beautiful beach you've ever seen?
The most beautiful beaches are on private property.  Public beaches are best at night and not crowded.  Eh?

What does your desktop look like and what makes it yours?  Photographs? Fav Homepage? Jewelry?  Special stationary?  Snacks? Messenger bag?  Colleagues? Radio station presets?

What makes you roll your eyes?
Being stared at.

Are you a fan of rainy days?
Yes.  Less need for watering the lawn.

Scrambled Eggs found Me

Objective:
To renew living spaces
  To reduce tension
to change focus from who does what
into what does or does not get done and why?
To create an idea layout  for the exising furniture in rooms
To anchor and seperate one living space from another
To complete and begin new wall painting projects

The only problem: I never expect these rules to stick or be followed religiously because i'm just not that sort of person.  Usually you find me trying to keep the fun in doing ordaniary stuff.  I don't like to feel like my cover gets blown cause my fun gets shut down too quickly after that.

Objective:  To award time spent on repetitive boring tasks like
folding clothes, washing dishes, walking the dogs, changing linen, cleaning and putting away dishes after a meal or snack
to avoid punishment for not keeping orderly
Objective:
To reduce the ammont of time it takes to transition from small tasks to larger ones
to reduce the number of misplaced items
to focus on the bigger picture of quality  relationships involving home and work life
To find rythem to follow, add to, creating a system, prospective employer, some one, something or somewhere to be productive, engaged and happy

Piled on the floor I have found several pieces of junk mail.  The same announcements week after week.  The coupons for Captain D's, Hardees, various pizza joints and Family Dollar really don't bother me.  The credit card ads, mortgage reducing ads and 'whip my ride' ones get annoying.

In the movie traffic one of my favorite lines is when the Michael Douglas goes into the office of the person he is relieving.  During their interaction, the advice is given frankly.  In trouble open the first letter.  It read  blame everything on me.  In the next time of trouble, the second letter was opened and read, write two letters.

Something about election time bring out the strangest things.  Some people become introverted, wanting to disconnect from everyone and everything familiar.  Politics in general sometimes bring out the best in others.  I'm sick of knowing both sides of an argument before it even happens.  Mental real estate....

Last night I was glued to the TV switching between Disney and CNBC.  The documentary on before the online dating one last night talking about Apple Inc.  I didn't know that Jobs had been let go from the company and merged again ten years later.

Somehow I woke up listening to Red Eye on Fox.  Made me want to jump out of my skin.  They were discussing someone on house arrest that gets the police called every time he lets his dog outside. Their back and fourth made me lose interest in the topic.  No one on the panel made strong points. So much for paying attention.
